Hello Everybody
I was wondering if somebody could help me. I am creating a hospital admissions database for a university assignment. This is a simple question but my mind has gone blank and cant think on how to do it. I have 7 tables Patient Information,Ward Information,Medication Info,Bed info,Employee info,Consultant info and treatment info. In the patient details would it be best to create a foreign key so that it will show wat ward they are on, who there consultant is etc or is it best in the individual tables to show the patient details via a foreign key.

Hi Stephen

Your first step is to check out the Data Models on this page of my Database Answers Web Site :-
http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models/index.htm

When you do that, you will find an ideal Kick-Start Data Model for you :-

You can take this as your starting-point and extend it to meet your specific requirements.
